I never realized just how much work being in a Bachelors program would be.  I skimmed by in getting my Associates degree and passed with flying colors, never realizing that I was completely unprepared for what was to come.  Actually having to study for my midterms and finals was a foreign concept to me.  Reading the textbooks that I spend so much money on, was something that I never did, until the last two semesters that is.  Although, I can say that I have learned more in the past two semesters than I have perhaps, ever.  It is refreshing to be gaining knowledge that I actually feel like I can use later on in my career.  Aside from being blindsided by continuous course work and difficult classes, the point of all this is to excuse my inadvertent lack in blogging.  The excuse is legit, I swear.  Not to mention my completely inopportune times that I choose to get sick and stay sick for weeks on end, but that's another story completely.

Now to the more important things: Almost my entire outfit in this post was thrifted, and not only that but also FREE!  I think that we can all appreciate that four letter word.  But seriously, this outfit came to be kudos from a very dear family friend who won me a voucher to a lovely little thrift store downtown with delightful outfits that are wonderful for my low budget wallet.

Finally, one another extremely exciting note.  A very close and wonderful family friend has taken an interest in my little fashion blog and has subsequently purchased us our own website!  So I can now be found at:
alyshaemarie.com

Wooooooooowhoooo, yes yes very exciting. :D

So please remember to bookmark/favorite my little blog... <3

Much love,

P.S. I seem to have lost my wonderful canon, so excuse the lower quality photos.

If it weren't for the careful guidance of my wonderful, trustworthy mother, I would be hopelessy drowning in the life that  I try desperately to shape into my own.  These past few weeks have been such a hassle with trying to figure out where I stand.  I love having a mother that truly cares about my well being and who can truly help me to see my faults and where I can make corrections.

You see.... Ever since I can remember I have been an extreme push over, maybe even an extreme people pleaser.  I don't know how this unfortunate habit developed, but until recently I never saw it as anything to be concerned about.  Afterall, isn't it good to be there for everyone when they need it and do everything that you can for everyone when they need it? No, I see now that it isn't. I see now that I have left myself open to manipulation from many different parties over the years.

My game face is shameful. I do nothing for myself, and if I do, it only last for short times until I stop doing it completely to make room for the needs of others. I say no more.

What an eye opener this week has been!  && because of this discovery, I intend to begin the journey of self discovery and self happiness.
I am willing and I am ready. Wish me luck!

As a side note, are there any other self admitted people pleasers out there?

Love, Alysha E. Marie

Hello, my lovely readers! Sorry about my absence over the past couple of days. Easter and Easter preparations took up a lot of my time over the weekend, so Happy Belated Easter to all of you! Also, this is finals week for me so I am bogged down with studying for finals and massive essay writing. I'm trying to recall where in the rule book of life does it say, "the last week of college classes will always be tediously torturous". Haha. But really, I am so ready for my Summer break to begin.
Anywho, enough about unpleasant things for now. This outfit is put together especially for Easter, and isn't that pink handbag splendid!? I bought it at the same time that I got my floral satchel (if you have seen that posting). I love shopping days like that, when you find just the most perfect items! :)

Well now, the blogging break is over and it's back to essay writing for this girl!
I hope that you are having an incredible week, stay lovely.

The weekend is finally here! It seems like this has been such a long and grueling week, I am glad that it is finally time to get some down time.
Today's blog posting is dedicated to this beautiful new satchel that I bought earlier this week.  It is just darling and I couldn't wait to show it off! :)
I have been looking for a satchel style bag for ages, but many of the ones I found were in the 60's-70's price range, ouch! I found this little beaut by chance and I am oh so glad that I did.
I always go through phases of trying to find a specific item for my wardrobe.  Don't get me wrong, I am one of those girls that just goes shopping, just to well... SHOP! With absolutely no goal in mind. But every once in a while I get the drive to find that one piece to improve my wardrobe and I set out to find it.
I just love floral prints like the one on this handbag, they are just so quaint and just plain lovely! I have been trying to find more floral items to add to my collection, but lets face it, finds like these are few and far between.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

P.S. What do you think of floral print? Are there other types of prints that you really like?

Love, Alysha E. Marie
