There is thunder in our hearts.

This outfit is one that I out together for Thanksgiving with my family.  I
especially love the colors in the coats, they seemed very fitting to me since they are Thanksgivingy colors. Enjoy! :)

Outfit Details:
Dark Blue Jeans - Sears
Gray Close Knit Sweater - Forever 21
Black Leather Capella Boots - Charlotte Russe
Classic Pea Plaid Coat with Faux Fur - Ross
Deer Necklace - Clairs
Vintage Red Crystal Ring - A Gift From My Parents

If it weren't for the careful guidance of my wonderful, trustworthy mother, I would be hopelessy drowning in the life that  I try desperately to shape into my own.  These past few weeks have been such a hassle with trying to figure out where I stand.  I love having a mother that truly cares about my well being and who can truly help me to see my faults and where I can make corrections.

You see.... Ever since I can remember I have been an extreme push over, maybe even an extreme people pleaser.  I don't know how this unfortunate habit developed, but until recently I never saw it as anything to be concerned about.  Afterall, isn't it good to be there for everyone when they need it and do everything that you can for everyone when they need it? No, I see now that it isn't. I see now that I have left myself open to manipulation from many different parties over the years.

My game face is shameful. I do nothing for myself, and if I do, it only last for short times until I stop doing it completely to make room for the needs of others. I say no more.

What an eye opener this week has been!  && because of this discovery, I intend to begin the journey of self discovery and self happiness.
I am willing and I am ready. Wish me luck!

As a side note, are there any other self admitted people pleasers out there?

Casually Speaking.

A thousand apologies go out to all of my readers and followers for neglecting to update my blog.  I had a somewhat stressful weekend and it has taken until now to find the time to post.  I'll will make it up to you guys though!  I have a special guest that I will be introducing you to tomorrow, so be sure to come back and meet a very special someone. :)

Outfit Details:
Loose Sparkle Blouse - Forever 21
Purple Cardigan - Forever 21
Bongo Jeans - Sears
Buckle Flats - Charlotte Russe
Ring - Gift From My Parents

I have always thought that when going casual you can always dress up a little bit and still be comfortable.  There are so many more options to being casual that just a simple t-shirt and pair of jeans. && that is exactly what I have done here.  I paired a somewhat dressy and very comfortable top with a soft cardigan and added a gorgeous ring, and waaalaa! Comfortably dressy.  I encourage everyone to try a dressy twist out on regular days, it definitely puts a jump in your step!

I'd like to send out a special thank you to the people that emailed me about my absence. I can't say enough how much it means to me to see that you all care. I also would like to welcome my newest followers, Isabel Spectra and Sterre Hoek.  These lovely ladies have put together such cute little blogs, I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Forget sparks, give me lightning.

Outfit Details:
Ruffle Top - Bordeaux from Anthropologie
Polka Dot/Bow Pencil Skirt - Forever 21
Black Pumps - Gianni Bini from Sears

Something you should know about me: I exhaust the things that I love to no extent. My favorite bands/songs are kept on repeat until everyone wants to take a sledge hammer to my laptop. I have seen Confessions of a Shopaholic at least thirty times and almost everyone around me can recite it word for word [whether they want to or not].  I play my favorite episodes from televisions shows over and over, and share parts of them with my family [on repeat].  Clothes, make-up and accessories are definitely not exempt from this trend. My closet is jam packed with countless shirts, skirts, pants, dresses and whatnot, but I have to force myself to not reach for the same items. I have at least fifty shoes, but I always find myself slipping on the same pumps, flats or sneakers. Not to mention my handbag, I find one that I love and that's the bag for me, forever.  I have to reason with myself to the point of exhaustion just to change bags so that I don't end up on wearing that bag out and having to throw it away. I believe this habit has two culprits, one: once I love something, I can't get enough of it. Two: It is always difficult for me to use new clothes, bags, shoes, etc. because I like them so much that I don't want them to get ruined or dirty or have them wear out too quickly.  So I always wait several months before actually putting them on. Such an incredibly bad habit and hence the reason that there are at least seven articles of clothing in my closet at this very moment that still have tags on them. Tisk Tisk.

Stranger things have happened.

Outfit Details:
Dark Blue Jeans - Sears
Cotton Bird Shirt - A Gift From My Mom
Black Leather Capella Boots - Charlotte Russe
Striped Scarf - A Gift From My Mom
Vintage Style Floral Yellow Ring - Christmas Present From My Parents

I apologize for the bit of strangness in today's photos, I was in an off mood this morning and I believe that this was reflected greatly in my photographs.  Gotta love that splash of yellow though, right?  It was a relatively warm day today and I felt as though I needed to pay tribute to the beautiful sun with some color. I can't wait till I can wear short again, without freezing my little bum off that is.  I feel like almost every posting thus far I have mentioned the weather or my desire for Spring [I am too lazy to check though], that just further shows how excited I really am!
Anywho, the day's awesome weather called for a visit to the park, and a reuniting with an old friend.  It was spectacular to see someone from so long ago and still be able to talk my brains out about all those silly and secret things.  Sometimes, people from your past come back into your life at just the right moments. <3
See you all tomorrow my lovely readers and I have exciting news!!

Sometimes, we have to get lost to find ourselves.

Outfit Details:
Vintage Style White Frills Dress - Thrifted
Cotton Button Up - Forever 21
Black Leather Handbag - Zumiez
Gianni Bini Pumps - Sears
Pink Charm Bracelet - A Gift From My Mom

I was surprised at how much black I actually wore on this particular day, I was going for a very modest and churchy look at the time and I feel as though I accomplished just that.  I have hardly any black pieces of clothing or accessories, so a good portion of those are featured in this outfit.  Those pumps you see there were my very first high heel shoes [other than the wee little ones my mother purchased when I was a little rascal].  I remember when I got them I was beginning to explore other fashions besides my boyish set of jeans and converse.  I will always be partial to these beauties; they are the perfect size and shape and are only about a five inch heel, so they are beyond comfortable.

It is difficult to believe that I ever sported the boyish look, even to me it seems like another life or something awkward like that.  I was very into being a tomboy and loved getting messy with the boys [even though boys were icky and had cooties] and holey jeans were my best friend.  I guess it takes everyone a while to settle into their own and find their true fashion and their true self.  Looks like I grew up to be a total girl.  You know what I mean, I rejoice when  I spot something pink and wince at the thought of a spider.
Ohh the joys of growing up. (:

P.S. This posting definitely would not have happened today if it had not been per the request of my number one fan, so it is for this, that I dedicate today's posting to you. You know who you are. Lots of love. <3
